Barnes and Noble Expands Opportunities for Self-Publishers with PubIt

Barnes and Noble is now offering a new web-based publishing platform to independent publishers called PubIt. Publishers can upload their eBooks using PubIt and set the prices according to their own desires.

The great thing about this is that it expands opportunities for self-publishers and smaller presses. Now, a small publisher can sell eBooks for multiple platforms. Use PubIt for the Nook, then go over to Amazon and sell your book on the Kindle Store and . . . yes, even market that puppy on the IPad.  Twenty years ago, Independents would’ve relied heavily on get their titles onto bookshelves and using direct mail. Ten years ago, they had Amazon. Now, they have a world of platforms to launch their literary love children. Gotta love technology!
