About

Diary of a Mad Editor has an odd history. You might say it has a checkered past. It began in 2000 on the now-defunct community/proto-blog site,Themestream.com. After the demise of Themestream, it moved briefly to Suite 101 and then moved again — this time to the Asterius Press website and spent several years there before migrating to the WordPress blog utility.

I began this blog as both a way to vent some frustration and impart some wisdom from my two decade involvement with the small press literary community — particularly in regards to my publishing enterprise, Asterius Press. There are times when the diary is much more rant than wisdom. And there are times when I wish that weren’t so. I’d like to change that in the future, but I guess blogs are reactionary by their very nature, so who knows?

Anyway, I hope you get some kind of kick out of reading this blog. If not, go elsewhere. Nobody’s got a gun to your head.
