Blog What You Know

There are certain truisms about writing that hold true regardless of genre or medium. The first and most obvious of these is: Write What You Know.

With regard to blogging, this translates into writing posts about subjects in which you are well-informed and have  a keen interest in. For example, if you know a lot about beauty and makeup and fashion,  you might write about skin care, a prevera review or something along those lines. Or, if you are into custom motorcycles, you could review new models of racing bikes. The point is, you shouldn’t start a blog writing about things you have no knowledge of or are not interested in just because you think it’s popular. Readers are attracted to informative, well-written content by bloggers who sound like they know what they are talking about, who are passionate advocates and provide useful content.
