Senate Likely to Kill Healthcare

Thanks to the Senate Republicans and Joe Lieberman it’s looking like healthcare reform will be dead on arrival in the Senate. I don’t normally discuss politics here, but being as I almost ended-up a casualty of our current healthcare system, I’ve got to say, what the fuck? I understand, health insurance companies don’t want this to happen, but what’s the point of voting if the people we vote for are in it to protect the interest of corporations instead of the people who elected them? And you’d think the healthcare companies, greedy as they are would want more people insured. After all, if you were a health insurance agent, would even one more eligable person represent another health insurance lead? And don’t those leads add-up? Of course, they only see the downside in having to insure people who need the insurance the most. Never mind that more insured people would save healthcare costs in the long run.
