Mama Said There’d Be Days Like This
First, allow me to apologize for the quality and infrequency of my posts of late. My only excuse is that I’ve been rather busy with other assignments, obligations and other personal shit and haven’t really had much time to devote to this blog. In addition to judging a poetry contest (my duties on that task were wrapped-up as of yesterday afternoon with a meeting with the other 2 judges), and working on the next issue of 13thWR (that should be published sometime in the next 2 weeks if nothing goes wrong), and working on freelance writing assignments, I’ve also been dealing with this new health problem, hypothyroidism. I’m not sure the dosage of medicine I’m receiving is sufficient (either that or I haven’t been taking the drug long enough to see the full effects), because I’m still feeling some fatigue in the afternoon and am having trouble losing weight. I’ve been looking into dietary and alternative treatments to supplement the medicine. Diet is a little tricky because a lot of veggies I eat as part of an anti-cancer diet are allegedly bad for you if you have a weak thyroid. Like spinach, broccoli and cauliflower for example. Supposedly certain vegetables contain substances that block thyroid production. As such, I’ve been eating those veggies more moderately of late. Supplements like HGH products seem dubious at best for correcting low thyroid even though they are peddles, in part, as a “natural” corrective. So, until my situation changes for the better (or I become less busy), I’m probably not going to be able to post as frequently as I was last year. And when I do, I’m thinking many of my posts will be mostly filler material.

I take thyroid med too. It doesn’t seem to bother me, but I do have trouble losing weight.I will follow your experiences.
