Desperately Seeking New Jersey
New Jersey has long had a bad reputation. When many people think of my home state, they think of crime, garbage and chemical factories. But there’s a reason New Jersey is called the “garden state.” The economy in New Jersey has been described as unstoppable even in times when the rest of the U.S. was not doing as well. New Jersey residents often commute to New York City via train and bus. If you’re thinking of moving, you can always find high paying jobs. At least this is the shiny, happy message the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce is promoting on its website. And while it’s true that New Jersey has a higher per capita income than many states, the economy here is struggling and people are hurting just like everywhere else. That’s probably why the New Jersey Chamber of Commerce website has recently launched a new job search channel for those seeking looking for New Jersey Jobs, which connects New Jersey employers and job seekers.
