I’m Just Saying

I feel like I should apologize for getting political on this blog of late. The purpose of this blog has never been to discuss my political views or write about politics in general. It’s just that I am deeply invested in this presidential election and sometimes my need to talk about it bleeds onto the pages of this blog. See, for me, the policies of the Bush administration have either indirectly caused problems for me or at least made it more difficult for me to live my life and I’m sure I’m not alone. I worry about the future — not just mine, my family and friends future, but everyone’s.

Right now, I’m staring at a stack of bills I’m not sure I’m going to be able to pay.

Post-cancer, I know that under the current system, I will have to pay more for health and life insurance rates. That’s just the tip of the iceberg for me. What’s going on with you?

Are any of us better off than we were 8 years ago? So we have a choice between a guy who earnestly wants to steer us in a different direction than the one we’ve been traveling and an grumpy, old war hawk who supports an open-ended war with no exit strategy, an economic policy that’s bent on giving corporations free reign while screwing the middle-class and driving more people into poverty, a healthcare plan that’s even worse than what we have now and a vice presidential pick who’s a fucking nitwit. So, all apologies aside, I guess until the election in early November, I’ll probably continue to blog about it in the hopes that my voice might sway a few people who are sitting on the fence. I expect after November, I’ll return to the main meet of what this blog is about: writing. So, if you find my more recent blogs a bit tedious, bear with me a while longer.
